HomeAid Houston announced that Legend Homes has come on board to donate construction management of a 7400 sq. ft., five-family residential facility for Gracewood’s Spring Branch location. It is the third and final home, completing that location’s campus. Gracewood, a charity of Children at Heart Ministries, provides housing for mothers and their children who need a safe haven from crisis situations.
HomeAid Houston, a charity sponsored by the Greater Houston Builders Association works with the GHBA to recruit generous Association members to donate materials, labor and services for the construction of transitional housing for the homeless of Houston.
The new home will include housing for five mothers and their children as well as administrative, support services, and counseling offices.
The two existing homes on the Elmview - Gracewood campus were also built through HomeAid Houston with partner MHI. These homes were finished out with donated furniture and appliances by a number of companies in the Houston area. The donations have created a warm, nurturing environment, that help foster the growth and healing of families in transition. Through Gracewood, mothers also receive counseling services and help in obtaining educations and jobs. HomeAid also worked with Gracewood at their Wanda Lane location. The remodel project there was the first Gold American National Standards Institute (ANSI) award.
Legend Homes currently builds in 20 communities across the Greater Houston area with price ranges from the $90’s - $200’s. Communities are located in Conroe, Cypress, Houston, Humble, Katy, Manvel, Richmond and Spring, TX. For more information on Legend Homes visit www.legendhomeshouston.com .
