HomeAid Works with Mission of Yahweh on Second Project
February 2, 2013

Mission of Yahweh (MOY) will be hosting an open house February 12th, to celebrate the completion of renovations to the Sister Gay Children's Home, which will add dignified housing for 40 women and children.  HomeAid was able to aid in the renovation by working with GHBA vendors and suppliers to get donations of materials.  Dal-Tile donated over $5000 worth of tile, enabling MOY to renovate two multi-person bathrooms.  In addition, Bison Building Products provided doors at a discounted price and Darling Homes donated a Bosch washer and dryer.

The Mission of Yahweh is a faith-based shelter that empowers, enriches and restores the lives of homeless women and children and provides outreach services to low income families.

MOY has served homeless women and their children since 1961. The doors are always open for families in crisis. The agency not only gives food, clothing and shelter, but also is committed to helping residents to become self-sufficient, productive members of society. The Mission supports more than 2,300 residential stays each month. They also provide thousands of Houston/Carverdale-area residents with donations of food, clothing, school supplies and other necessities.

Many thanks to our vendors: Ferguson Supply - plumbing fixtures; Bison/Stock Supply – doors; Lighting Inc - light fixtures and Dal-Tile Company donated the tile.
