M/I Homes, the builder of the 2016 HomeAid Project Playhouse will be generating a lot of excitement at Minute Maid Park beginning June 1 when their Pixel Playhouse becomes a virtual reality for kids and adults alike.  Pixel Playhouse will be on display at the Astros games from June 1 through June 22nd, and it is a game-changer!  The playhouse, located in the right field area near section 150, is a video game-style design that offers a broad array of amenities that include air conditioning, tempered safety glass windows, a plasma TV, a treasure chest, a front porch and Dutch door, exterior torches, game seating, and a hand created rug, tree and artwork that make this playhouse a virtual home-away-from- home in the lucky winner's own backyard.

HomeAid Houston, a non-profit charity of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), and M/I Homes have partnered with the Houston Astros and the Astros Foundation for this 10th anniversary of HomeAid's Project Playhouse fundraiser.  Proceeds from the drawing that will take place on June 22nd, will benefit HomeAid's mission - to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach.

The playhouse was built with donated materials and labor by GHBA members, including J.P. Hart Lumber, Builders First Source, ProBuild, Quick Roofing, Builders Mechanical (BMI), IES Residential, Installed Building Products and MediLab 3D Solutions.

The M/I Homes team includes Amanda Rackliff, marketing manager; Keith Blum, vice president of purchasing; Bobby R. McNeese, sales manager; Chasity St. Andre, escrow officer;  James Lee, construction superintendent;  Jean Pearcy, sales administrator;  Linda Lynch, senior administrator; Steve Madrid, construction superintendent and Stephanie Wright, sales manager.

"M/I Homes is honored and excited to participate in Project Playhouse this year," said Jay McManus, division president.  "What better way to raise money to end homelessness?  This is a tremendous opportunity for M/I Homes in Houston to give back to the community and involve our employees by doing what we do best - build homes!"

"HomeAid's 10th annual Project Playhouse is sure to be a huge success with our partnership that includes the professionals at M/I Homes and the Houston Astros," said Cindy Hinson, president of HomeAid Houston.  "Pixel Playhouse will make it fun for the entire family to help raise funds for HomeAid's mission."

In the last thirteen years, HomeAid Houston has completed 36 projects, adding over $10 million in real estate to Houston's homeless community, which translates into over 400 beds for homeless men, women and children.   For more information visit www.homeaidhouston.org or call 281-970-8970.
