HomeAid Raises Funds Through Women's Luncheon
HomeAid Houston, a Greater Houston Builders Association charity, hosted their second HALO luncheon, a fund raising event held at Del Friscos in the Galleria on October 5th. More than 45 professional women within the construction industry attended the luncheon. HALO which stands for HomeAid's Amazing Ladies Organization was created to bring many of Houston's building industry professionals together to learn about HomeAid, to share ideas and to help raise funds to support the HomeAid mission – To build dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives.
Guests included members from the GHBA, GHBA staff, HomeAid staff, HomeAid Houston board members, Women Contractors Association and hosts Toy Wood, CEO of the GHBA, Lisa Clark with Ryko Development and Kellie Vazquez with Holes, Inc. A resident from Gracewood shared her story of homelessness, addiction and recovery.
HomeAid's vision for HALO is to inspire more women within the industry to join the challenge in giving hope to Houston's homeless community by making HomeAid Houston their personal charity of choice.
