CBRE Day of Caring at Santa Maria House of HopeHouston, Texas – September 24, 2010 – CB Richard Ellis has announced that it will partner with HomeAid to provide housing for the homeless in Houston during its September 2010 "Get Out and Give Back" BuildMonth through CBRE Cares, the company's national corporate philanthropy program. This month of giving back will benefit local communities in partnership with HomeAid and Rebuilding Together, CBRE Shelter Program charitable partners. On September 24, 2010, 20 CBRE volunteers will partner with the local HomeAid chapter to provide painting for Santa Maria's House of Hope apartments. This project is one of several U.S. projects that will be spearheaded by CB Richard Ellis offices in conjunction with Rebuilding Together and HomeAid during the company's "Get Up and Give Back" BuildMonth in September. "This new program aims to build on company and individual contributions to our communities by more closely aligning our business with our giving endeavors. By partnering with HomeAid we are providing real estate solutions to assist those in need of a helping hand," said Deanne Tennant, CBRE, Houston. "HomeAid Houston is delighted to have the help of volunteers from the Houston office of CB Richard Ellis through the CBRE Cares program to update the facilities at Santa Maria's House of Hope], a transitional housing facility for homeless women and children. Their assistance at this critical time will enable us to renovate some of their apartments and enable them to better meet the needs of their clients," said HomeAid Houston board president, Chris Denison, of Amegy Bank. In 2010, CB Richard Ellis selected HomeAid as one of two charitable partners to implement the company's Shelter Program, part of its corporate philanthropy program CBRE Cares. Rebuilding Together—an organization working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods by providing complimentary home repair and renovation services to those in need—was also chosen as one of CB Richard Ellis' partners. This collaborative effort is designed to improve the housing options for low-income communities across the country. To find out more about the partnership, visit www.cbre.com/cbrecares |
